The environmental impact assessment (EIA) provides an overview of the foreseeable effects a planned construction project will have on the environment.
We prepare environmental impact reports (EIRs) as the basis for the EIA. In doing so, we will take all relevant environmental aspects into account. Our services include the planning and implementation of surveys and investigations for environmental impact reports or independent studies (soil, contaminated sites, waste disposal, water, flora and fauna, noise, etc.)
We help our customers to make their projects more environmentally friendly and sustainable. Careful project planning defines the necessary measures for the construction and operational phases. This approach makes the building permit process efficient and often prevents objections to a construction project.

According to the "Leitbild Seebecken" from 2009, a new harbor facility is to be built in the Zurich-Tiefenbrunnen area with the aim of concentrating the boating facilities in the Tiefenbrunnen harbor and thus relieving the lake basin. A water sports center with harbor facilities is to be created. The construction project essentially comprises the construction of a new publicly accessible harbor facility with the necessary lake- and shore-side boat slips as well as the nautical infrastructure.
The municipal public design plan "Marina Tiefenbrunnen" will be issued for the project area and an environmental impact assessment (EIA) will be carried out. more >>
Schweizer Salinen AG, Aargau
The concession of Schweizer Salinen AG for salt mining in the canton of Aargau expires in 2025. As part of the concession extension for the next 50 years, the mining area is to be defined in the structure plan and a cantonal utilization plan is to be drawn up for the various brine fields. For the first brine field "Nordfeld" in the Möhlinerfeld, a utilization plan has been developed and an environmental impact report (EIR) has been prepared.
Over a period of about 20 years, around 6 million tons of salt are to be extracted by drilling about 65 wells. A transport pipeline will carry brine and fresh water between the Riburg salt works in Rheinfelden and the Solfeld site in Wallbach and Zeiningen. The project thus comprises decentralized construction and operating work over a period of around 20 years as well as a unique line construction site with a length of around 10 km. Especially during the construction phases, numerous environmental aspects of the project are highly relevant, such as groundwater, soil, noise and light emissions, construction waste, forest and water protection. Flumroc, Flums
The project for the implementation of the remediation targets for the total exhaust air of Flumroc AG at the production site in Flums (SG) provides for the construction of new waste gas purification plants. At the same time, conversions and optimizations are also planned in the production process. As a result, the production of stone wool will become more energy-efficient and, in addition, CO2 and SO2 emissions can also be significantly reduced. Thus, the project will lead to a significant environmental improvement compared to the initial state.

Spöl, Zernez
During corrosion protection work at the Punt dal Gall dam in September 2016, an incident occurred in which PCB-contaminated blasting material entered the Spöl and spread in the watercourse. The affected section of the river is partly located in the Swiss National Park and has a length of several kilometers. The Office for Nature and Environment (ANU) of the Canton of Graubünden quickly initiated initial investigations to ascertain the extent of the damage and set up an interdisciplinary task force. In addition, first immediate measures (cleaning of the stilling basin) as well as small-scale test remediation were carried out. Due to the high complexity of the case, it developed into a political issue with high media impact. Ecosens provided scientific and environmental legal advice to the power plant operator EKW, participated in the round table negotiations and prepared a draft for the remediation project. Due to differing views on the remediation goal and the remediation perimeter, remediation measures have not yet been started. more >>
