Sennenberg shooting range

The project

Location: Wald (ZH)
Customer: Wald Municipality (ZH)
Phases: Project development, submission, site remediation
Duration: 2018-2020
Building costs: approx. CHF 400,000

Wald Municipality (ZH) was obliged to remediate the bullet trap of the Sennenberg shooting range on a steep and remote slope in the agricultural zone, taking previous contamination into account. The remediation work was coordinated with the rifle club operators and the affected farmers at an early stage. The work to remediate the site included removing and disposing of approximately 1,000 tonnes of heavily contaminated material from the bullet trap during the summer of 2020. Following remediation, the terrain was recultivated and greened in accordance with conditions at the site.
