Safe acquisitions without unexpected environmental risks

If you are planning to purchase property or a company, you should be as well informed as possible about the potential environmental risks.

If you are planning to purchase property or a company, you should be as well informed as possible about the potential environmental risks.

It is important to us to offer you security and transparency. Together with you we will define the exact scope of the investigation in a due diligence report, identify the risks, evaluate the financial and legal consequences and advise you on the actions to be taken.

We carry out our investigations in accordance with international standards (e.g. Environmental Due Diligence Phase I and II according to ASTM). We specialise in translating scientific guidelines and environmental directives into concrete results that can be used in the transaction process. This process is based on our experience with over 300 environmental due diligence projects worldwide.

Do you have any questions about legal succession and transaction agreements? Our solicitors are on hand to advise you.

We proceed as follows for due diligence:

  • Evaluation of publicly accessible documents provided by the company, review of information in data room
  • Obtaining information about the history and current use of the sites by conducting interviews with the persons responsible or, in the case of more extensive portfolios, by conducting surveys
  • Site visits, paying particular attention to asbestos, production processes, service installations, the storage of hazardous substances, etc.
  • Where necessary, technical investigations of the subsoil, the groundwater and the building substance, including sampling and determining the content of hazardous materials

Gerne unterstützen wir Sie auch bei weiteren Fragestellungen wie Arbeitsschutz-Risiken, Erdbebensicherheit oder ESG (Environmental and Social Governance), die im Zusammenhang mit Transaktionen relevant sein können.
