Dimensioning geothermal probe field

We are delighted to have completed an exciting project in the field of near-surface geothermal energy.

Ecosens AG was able to carry out the geological investigations, including the dimensioning of the geothermal probe field, the subsoil investigation and the investigation of building pollutants for the site development on Thurgauerstrasse/Leutschenbachstrasse in Zurich.

Our team planned and supervised a test geothermal probe for ARGE Hochhaus Zürich Nord E2A / Takt in order to achieve maximum efficiency.

In a geothermal probe, heat is extracted from and/or supplied to the ground through a closed system.

Here is an overview of our services:

  •  Planning and monitoring of the test drilling and recording of the drilling profile based on the drilling samples.
  •  Planning and monitoring of a thermal response test (TRT) in the borehole to analyze the geothermal properties of the ground. The thermal conductivity of the
    deep layers of rock.
  •  Creation of a model for dimensioning the geothermal probe field over 50 years. This calculation shows where and how many boreholes for geothermal probes are required.
  •  Creation of simulations of the use of the geothermal probe field on EWS Pro and optimization of the system design.
  •  Preparation of a comprehensive report including a user agreement for the customer.

Our specialists Benjamin Zürcher and Hüseyin Özdürük analyzed and optimized the result together with the client, taking into account the regulations of the Office for Waste, Water, Energy and Air (AWEL).

If you also have a project for near-surface geothermal energy utilization, we will be happy to support you with our expertise in this field.
