Nature in Switzerland is being used more and more intensively. Lively construction activity outside of building zones, leisure activities and the expansion of settlement areas are constantly increasing the pressure. The protection, ecological enhancement and networking of habitats are therefore becoming increasingly important.
Anyone who develops a project with foresight and incorporates the necessary technical expertise at an early stage can mitigate conflicts of use by taking appropriate measures.
Our environmental specialists carry out ecological surveys. They also evaluate habitats and connectivity paths and draw up habitat balances.

Ecological recultivation Windisch
The project perimeter was recultivated and ecologically enhanced as part of the remediation of a contaminated site. To this end, various small structures for wild bees, insects, birds and small mammals were created and ecologically valuable and species-rich planting and greening was selected. The affected area was subsequently rezoned as a nature conservation zone. more >>
Nature conservation inventory objects Voketswil
On a previously undeveloped property in the residential or building zone, there was a once man-made pond with banks and an extensive row of hedges. With regard to a planned property sale, various questions arose: Are these protected nature conservation objects and of what status? Can these areas still be built on? What replacement measures could be expected? Ecosens AG carried out the relevant clarifications with the utmost discretion and drew up a nature conservation report to answer all these questions. The report also included suggestions as to how the nature conservation inventory objects could be integrated into a future development or how appropriate replacement measures could be implemented on the property itself or externally. more >>
Neophytes Railway lines Valais
Invasive neophytes prefer to colonize freshly created embankments, soil deposits and other raw soils. Railroad lines and embankments are also affected areas. Highly proliferating species can therefore impair infrastructure and very quickly lead to high maintenance costs. The Federal Office of Transport (FOT) asked MR AG to address the issue of invasive neophytes on its rail network, and Ecosens supported Transports de Martigny et Régions SA (TMR) in combating neophytes on the Mont Blanc Express and St. Bernard Express lines.
During an inspection of the two railroad lines (~ 45 km), the occurrences were identified and georeferenced. The data was processed so that it could be managed on a GIS platform. A customized action plan showed how the neophytes can be combated as part of maintenance. As part of a training course, TMR employees were informed about the procedure and the proper handling of neophytes. more >>
Rynetel wildlife transfer
For the construction of the Rynetel wildlife overpass in the municipalities of Suhr and Gränichen, forest areas were temporarily cleared on both sides of the N01 national road and installation areas were created. In addition, existing forest paths were rerouted to keep people away from the portal areas of the wildlife overpass in future. New and different types of ground areas were recultivated on the newly created cover of the national road and ecological structures and alternating wetland biotopes were created. In total, around 3,500 m2 of additional ground surface was created, 2,500 m2 of temporarily used forest ground was
were restored, 500 m of existing forest paths were dismantled and recultivated and 320 m of new forest paths were created. Ecosens AG's soil science construction supervision was responsible for soil protection in all phases from project planning to commissioning. A largely balanced soil balance was achieved across the entire project by recycling local forest soil (road clearance) and forest soil removed from a nearby highway construction site (Lenzburg Süd junction). more >>
