Decontamination of a CKW contaminated site, Zurich, 2007 – today

The long-term use of chlorinated solvents (CKW) by an industrial firm in Zurich led to major contamination of the soil and the groundwater. Ecosens supported the current property owner during sales negotiations, carried out the analyses, supported the building owner during the submission process, and is currently – in its function as a specialist department for contaminated sites – responsible for the decontamination of this location.

Dismantling and decontamination of a former tannery, Canton of Bern, 2008-2011

A new building project is currently underway on the site of a former tannery. The soil was in part strongly contaminated with heavy metals. Ecosens analysed the contamination, supports the building owner during sales negotiations and – in its function as specialist department for contaminated sites – is responsible for the clean-up of the contaminated site.

Preliminary inspection SBB, canton Zurich and Thurgau, 2010 – today

The Swiss Federal Railway SBB keeps its own land register of contaminated locations. Ecosens is commissioned to implement technical analyses at different locations in the cantons Zurich and Thurgau at which a hazard to protected goods cannot be completely eliminated.
