Survey of asbestos deposits in real estate belonging to Credit Suisse, 2009 – today

In real estate portfolios belonging to private real estate managers, we often find objects where – based on the building’s construction prior to the introduction of the asbestos ban in 1991 – the suspicion exists that the structural fabric is contaminated with asbestos. Ecosens developed an instrument for analysing the over 700 Credit Suisse buildings in terms of their potential asbestos risk.

Planning and accompanying asbestos removal work at the University Hospital in Zurich, 2007 – today

The implementation of the fire prevention measures at the University Hospital in Zurich also required minimal structural intrusion. Since numerous buildings were older, the general suspicion exists that construction materials containing asbestos could have been used. Ecosens completed related analyses to identify the materials containing asbestos. In addition, the company supported the group of building owners and the occupants during submission and planning and is responsible for asbestos removal in its current function as site manager for contaminated sites.

Risk assessment and support of asbestos clean-up in a high-rise building of a residential building site in Zurich, 2007

Within the scope of a total renovation of a residential building site in Zurich, demolition work caused damage to unknown deposits of asbestos, thus triggering uncontrolled asbestos fibre contamination inside the entire building. The work had to be halted and a danger and risk assessment subsequently performed. Ecosens completed these analyses to record the extent and the risk, supported the group of building owners in the submission and planning, and was, as a specialist department for asbestos, responsible for the asbestos removal.
